Sneak Peak of SAMS Internship
Hello Interwebs!
It has taken me some time to get back on track since I have entered into the second phase of the Allegheny Mountain School program. I want to give a full update on my efforts now that I am a SAMS Intern in the small town of Appalachia, VA in the coalfields of Central Appalachia.
One question I have asked myself since getting here is what is the significance of local foods in a place that is ravaged my mountaintop removal? How can I focus on food access when mountains are disappearing all around me? As it turns out, there are plenty of connections to be made. In the video I am posting helped me to recognize this in new ways. So here is that sneak peak and there will soon be more to come from the coal fields!
